We’d love to hear your views! Our parent survey is now open and your feedback is really important in helping us continue to improve our school.
The survey is open from 30 June to 11 July 2025. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts with us. You can find a link to the survey on the Tapestry post from 30 June 2025. It was also emailed to you on the same date to ensure we reach as many parents / carers as possible.
Thank you for your support!
When Robert Miles Infant School won the Nova Education Trust 'Environmental Impact Award' at the beginning of the year, the sponsors of this award, Equans, very generously donated £1000 to our school. Thanks to this achievement, we have been able to purchase new resources for our Forest School area. These include outdoor learning equipment, nature exploration kits and additional waterproof clothing to ensure all our children can enjoy safe, hands-on experiences, whatever the weather.
Our children have since taken part in exploratory sessions, testing out the new resources for the first time. It was lovely to see them demonstrating resilience when climbing, as well as using their imagination when creating new and exciting recipes in the mud kitchen. Mr Rahman, the CEO of our academy trust, Nova, was particularly impressed with the levels of engagement and collaboration when he joined a session during a visit to our school.
Mrs Attwood and Mrs Jacques have completed two face-to-face training sessions, as part of gaining the accreditation of Level 3 Forest School Leaders. They will continue to work towards this qualification over the coming year, whilst delivering high-quality fortnightly sessions for all classes.

On Friday 11th July, we will be having a non-school uniform day. In return, we kindly ask that each child brings in a donation for our summer fair tombola.
Suggested donations include:
Please ensure all items are new and unused. We will collect them at the school gate on the morning of Friday 11th July so your child doesn't have too much to carry into class.
Thank you for your support!
Our Summer Fair is quickly approaching (Wednesday 23rd July at 3:30pm). We are busy organising lots of exciting stalls and activities. Our school councillors shared their ideas with staff and one of the stalls they'd like to have is a toy sale. Please can we kindly ask if any families have any toys that they no longer use/want, that they donate them to school for our toy sale. Any toy donations can be given to the school office. Thank you.
Please ensure children wear the correct uniform everyday, including black shoes. We have agreed exceptions for a very small number of children with regards to footwear.
Our school uniform consists of:
• Blue sweatshirt or cardigan
• White polo shirt
• Black/grey trousers or shorts
• Grey skirt/pinafore – blue check summer dress may be worn in warmer weather
• Black/white/grey socks or tights
• Sensible black shoes
There is no expectation that children should wear branded items of uniform.
Please ensure all items of clothing are clearly labelled so that we can easily return them to their owner if lost.
At the end of term, we will leave out all unnamed school items for you to look through in case they belong to your child.
Thank you

Important Update: Changes to Before and After-School Club Fees
At Robert Miles Infant School, we are committed to providing high-quality before and after-school care for our children, supporting working families and enriching our children’s school experience.
We want to let you know that, from September 2025, there will be a slight increase to the costs for both our before and after-school clubs. This change is necessary to ensure we can continue to maintain our current standards of staffing, resources and activities, while also meeting rising operational costs.
New Fees from September 2025:
Breakfast Club: £6 per session (previously £5.50)
After-School Club: £10 per session (previously £9.75)
We understand that any increase in costs can be challenging for families and this decision has not been made lightly. We have worked hard to keep the increase as minimal as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office at office@rmischool.co.uk or 01949 837422.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
