E-Safety Information and Advice

At Robert Miles Infants, we recognise our shared responsibility with parents when it comes to e-safety. We are responsible for ensuring our online procedures keep children and young people safe, and for teaching them about online safety, in and outside of school.

We aim to foster an open environment in which the children are encouraged to ask any questions and participate in an ongoing conversation about the benefits and dangers of the online world.

E-Safely is taught in all year groups, in an age appropriate way. Click here for a document showing our end-of-year expectations for each year group. We teach elements of the e-safety throughout the year but also ensure a deeper coverage as part of a themed week each year, which coincides with an national 'Safer Internet Day' every February. You can find out more information about this on their website: https://www.saferinternetday.org/

For advice for parents on online safety have a look at https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/ or https://www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/

For e-safety activities to do with 5-7 year olds go to http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/5_7/

You can report an e-Safety issue using the CEOP website which will take you to the relevant phone number and email address you need in order to report a problem. https://www.ceop.police.uk/safety-centre/

Please speak to a member of staff if you have any concerns or would like more advice. You can talk to one of our safeguarding leads if you have concerns about a particular child. Our safeguarding leads are: Mrs Adams, Mrs Marshall and Mrs Ryan.
