Staff Testing for Covid-19 begins at Robert miles Infant School

The Department for Education has asked for staff members in Primary Schools to take part in self testing for Covid-19. Robert Miles Infant School are happy to take part in this scheme and play our part in trying to break the chain of transmission. we will be testing twice weekly which will help to identify any asymptomatic cases of the virus within staff.

We recognise that although staff testing aims to make schools safer for both staff and children, there may be some disruption to staffing in the event of a positive result. If we do have any positive cases we will notify parents as soon as possible and make any relevant bubble closures if necessary. A government PCR test will then be carried out by the member of staff and the result of this test will determine the amount of time a bubble will be closed for.

We want to ensure that there is minimal disruption to learning, and would therefore like to ask those parents who's child/children are currently in school using the keyworker provision at this time to familarise yourself with the online learning platforms that we have in place for home learning. This will allow your child's learning to continue at home in the event of a bubble closure.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best Wishes.
